Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi Arabia will start privatising Saudi Post's services during 2018, said Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) Minister Abdullah Alswaha said.

The first phase of privatising the state-run postal system will transfer it into an institutional entity which focuses on financial statements and management, Alswaha added. 

To this end, a number of committees were formed to privatise all sectors of the Saudi Post, including information, telecoms, and information technology departments, the top official noted.

The minister highlighted that the other phases of privatisiting the Saudi Post will include turning into e-commerce and parcels, as well as providing logistics and other complementary services.
